- YouTube - "I agree w/this-no matter how rotten a mega-government-military contractor might be, the engineers, designers, technicians & crews are still passionate, talented people. We should delineate between them & the interests that exploit &/or squander their talent, as well as support future business models that enhance these people's ability to get into smaller-more focused companies that are driven at least as much 4passion as they are for profit. A SpaceX IPO makes me cringe btw." -HeliosWorksAV
- YouTube - "I don't think they would have a chance in a fair contest. That said, as defense contractors they know how to play DC pretty well. Don't be surprised if they "win" without actually succeeding." -salmonleap02
- YouTube - "Hey Spacevidcasters! Does anyone know of a phone app that shows and tracks launch schedules? I'm using a windows phone, which makes the search even more futile..." -mrplease66
- YouTube - "Here is what went through my mind when Liberty launched this recent PR effort. "Oh! That is where the rapid down-size proposals are coming from." It looks like high-powered lobbiests from Boeing and Liberty trying to help Congress reassert control of this whole New Space effort, which is rapidly spinning out of their control and turn it into something that looks more like traditional, high-priced government contracting with traditional players." -whousley
- YouTube - "What free market? NASA decides who wins. NASA is a government agency." - quantumg
- YouTube - "The maker community will give you a pleasant surprise sooner than you think, Ben. I'm writing this with more computing power than all of NASA had for the Apollo program. Composite materials hadn't yet been invented; now they're commonplace. Rocket motors used to be "rocket science," but now you can buy various models "off the shelf" from at least a half-dozen vendors. It's only a matter of time... and it ain't gonna be no "two decades"..." -taiwanjohn88
- YouTube - "Tom Mueller of SpaceX was building liquid fueled rocket engines in his garage before he met that crazy South African millionaire who wanted to put flowers on Mars. Rocket science can come out of the Maker community. Spacexula / Neil the REPRAP guy" -Nuaetius1

As someone who has recently moved from the "Space Coast" all the way to Hawaii I'm in favor of a Spaceport here. I miss KSC so badly. I took it for granted and didn't go to see as many launches as I would have liked. You can be sure that I'd be there on the 19th to watch the Dragon go up. So bring it to the Aloha state! Shoootsssss. lol baillou2

Since 20 years ago in space: The first international, longest lasting, most complex, and largest space station was built. Rovers became interplanetary tools that lasts for years and travel miles. Maned space vehicles are now built in batches as opposed to one every decade or so. China has a manned space program. There have been sample returns from outside the Earth Moon system, and the Hubble service missions stand out as some of the greatest and most practical work in spacewalk history. monokhem
In defense of ATK, I'm glad to see that they are taking commercial spaceflight seriously. Of any company with both experience and the financial resources necessary to get into the commercial space market that isn't currently a player right now, it would be ATK. The concern about ATK is that they are going to politicize the procurement process and become the sole launch provider under CCDev. In other words they are going to leverage their position in DC to kill competition. GlanderBrondurg
