  • At the end of the day human spaceflight is not justified unless it leads to settlement. Everything else can be done better and more cheaply by robots. ~U5K0
  • Why do we go to space? I think the answer is pretty simple: KNOWLEDGE. We go to space because we are curious, because many of us are no longer satisfied with the answers we are fed from made-up religious texts. We want to know the real answers, the answers of reason. ~rinceart
  • I thought colonizing the moon would be easy with a little imagination. We should have refueled the last space shuttle in orbit and mounted some extra thrusters to it. Then we could have sent it off to the moon or better yet mars orbit. Given its size and capability, it could be our first permanent structure on the moon or space station in orbit of mars. Once on the surface of the moon it would be the space equivalent of an RV that someone puts on blocks. ~Pitviper1979
  • Honestly, I don't care if people understand why space is important or why robotic and human programs need to be equal. I care if lawmakers understand. ~OTmikhail
  • Oh Wow Thank you so much for using my video response! Sorry I missed the live show, had to work. But Thank you so much! ~OTmikhail
  • Ok. so here is what i dont get. They are going to launch the orion test flight on a delta IV rocket? Wouldnt it be cheaper to use that rocket for low orbit orion missions rather than the SLS? ~joachim2464
  • You said that there are no borders on earth visible from space. Sadly there is one: Google "India-Pakistan border from space" :( ~ungerik
  • From an simplified point of view, space (IMO) investment comes down to 2 factors: Human Curiosity & Economics. These 2 factors in a sense co-exist perpetually, either cooperating or clashing. We as human beings have a natural passion for enhancing our understanding of our surroundings. That passion can result have effect on Economics by enhancing technologies and education making our lives more efficient and providing a stimulated and active economy. With these 2 factors alone, we should invest. ~wenchance
